La Posada de Taos is a Culinary Destination. After all, travelers who stay at B&B's expect something more than a "toaster breakfast."
Because our guests deserve the best we can offer, we focus on both "B's: the beds and the breakfasts.
We're in the business of helping you create great memories of your time in Taos. Starting each day with a terrific breakfast is just one way we hope to facilitate a one-of-a-kind vacation for you and yours.
It's that special time each morning when all our guests gather at the breakfast table and share a meal prepared by one or both of La Posada's two Master Chefs. Sitting as a group each day offers everyone the chance to meet travelers from all over the country — frequently from all over the world. It's a time of sharing the incredible food as well as the special moments that Taos always offers.
Breakfast always begins with cut fresh fruit, organic yogurt and our signature housemade granola. The first course is always accompanied by a variety of fruit juices such as our favorite Blueberry Pomegranate juice or orange juice.
But what is breakfast without something baked fresh in the oven each day? We're not talking store-bought muffins here. And we're definitely not talking about anything prepared from a mix. Because we are a true Culinary Destination, our chefs prepare their baked items from all the basic ingredients of the pastry pantry: flour, sugar, butter, and eggs. As soon as you pick up that muffin or scone or biscuit, you'll understand that the chef prepared it just for you that very morning.
Michael Carter, our own "Breakfast Guru," has developed several signature dishes:
- blue corn, toasted pinion waffle served with chicken-apple sausage or bacon
- posole-lime pancake served with red chili pork and a poached egg has no equal
- breakfast tostadas with black beans topped by an egg over easy
- individual serving baked eggs with fresh herbs
- hash-brown crusted spinach quiche
Being a Culinary Destination also means that we serve breakfasts that are hearty and healthy with well-balanced portions of the homemade best that our chef can prepare.
Finally, what 21st Century Kitchen would be complete without a Chef's Garden during the growing season?
Located just across our one-lane historic street at La Posada's Vacation Rental property is a large vegetable garden that includes a variety of fresh herbs, greens, corn, beets, melons, tomatoes, strawberries, and other items to be served fresh during the spring, summer and early fall seasons.
